On the first floor of ?rnomelj Castle the history of the town from prehistoric times to the middle of the 20th century, with emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries, is shown in two small rooms. The abounding activities of societies, the rich social life of the ?rnomelj people, as well as the economic development of the town and its industrialisation are underlined. Several objects linked with the history of the town are displayed. In the smaller room there is an ambient display of a worker's kitchen from the middle of the 20th century.
